Journalism students in Maseno University have launched a youth educative online group.
The launching of the website “Titan Group”, was done on Thursday evening in a colorful ceremony held in the University’s Boardroom.
Speaking during the launch, Salome Ayugi, The Chief Executive Officer of the group said that the group was aimed at embracing and promoting creativity and innovation among the youth.
She also said the group was also meant to educate the youth on various lifestyle issues besides also providing employment to the youth in future.
While addressing students among other members of the public at the same event, Ruth Ambogo, the Country Director of Young African Women in Leadership said that the use of technology is inescapable.
She urged the youth not to shy away from embracing proper use of the internet especially the use social media platforms.
“Governance, business, education and even religion is going online, you cannot escape the internet era,” said Ms Ambogo.
She nonetheless congratulated the founders of the group for crafting a way of availing proper educative material to the public especially the youth through the internet based platform.
The group has managed to produce three editions of both entertaining and educative online magazine known as 'The Tide'.
The group has also produced an educative film on campus life by the title “Twist of Fate”.
