Students from Maseno University have called on the university administration to train students on fire fighting.
The students said it was important to train students on how to manage fire situations.
The students spoke to this writer on Thursday at the university.
“We found out that most of the students don’t know the effective ways of handling emergencies and majorly fire incidents. We call upon the school administration to provide education to all students to avoid future incidents that can be managed," said John Okoyo, a taem leader from the Disaster Management department.
They spoke as students from the department underwent a fire fighting training session on Thursday.
Maseno late 2015 suffered one of the deadliest fire incidents in the history of the institution after a fire gutted down the administration block.
