The head of department of transport, roads, public works and housing in Machakos county, Hon. George Kioko Luka who is also the minister responsible for handling emerging rain caused calamities in Machakos county on Friday morning sent a word of advice to those living along hill slopes and river sides especially in Kangundo and Masinga sub counties to vacate and move to safer grounds because such areas are currently a risk to their lives and property.
Honourable Kioko said this in a press conference from his office whereby he mentioned that several cases of hill slope slides have been witnessed in the county risking people's life and property.
"Machakos county government has set aside Kshs. 3million to deal with rain caused emergencies and Machakos residents should not hesitate to call for help from the county government in case the need arises," said Kioko.
