The chase for the Kenya Premier League golden boot award could be over after prolific Kariobangi Sharks striker Masoud Juma extended his goal tally beyond any possible reach.

Juma now has a record 17 goals after netting twice in their 4-1 drubbing of league debutants Nzoia Sugar on Saturday at the Camp Toyoyo.

The two goals he scored yesterday now means that his closest challengers,Gor Mahia's Jacques Tuyisenge and Nakumatts's Kepha Aswani must both score at least four goals to catch up with him with only one match to go.

Other players who are also in the chase include K'ogallo's Meddie Kagere who has twelve goals, Sofapaka's Umaru Kasumba and Ulinzi's Stephen Waruru who jointly have eleven goals.

Interestingly,Juma has also in the process, surpassed the 2016 season highest scoring tally of 15 goals set by Ulinzi Stars striker John Mark Makwatta.
