Kenya Premier League  (KPL) top scorer Masoud Juma has revealed reasons behind his goal scoring spree saying negative comments from a section of the fans inspired him to do better.

Speaking to a the KPL website on Friday, the Kenyan international said his first stint with the national team did not go down well with a section of the fans who questioned his suitability for the assignments.

"I got an ankle injury in the last match of the pre season and had to be out for the first six games of the season. When I returned I got a call up by the national team and that is when the fans started talking. Most of the talks were negative with others claiming that I did not merit the call and that I earned my place in the team because I was turning out for Kariobangi Sharks", Juma said.

" I dont know if it was out of hate or if there was something in it but I chose to make it my source of inspiration.I worked harder on my own and promised myself to prove my worth in the national team and my worth as player", he added. His fine form saw Sharks finish thirs behind champions Gor Mahia and second placed Sofapaka Fc.

Juma is expected to lead the goal hunting mission for the Paul Put side in the Cecafa tourney that begins this Sunday in Kenya and he says his main ambition is to inspire the team to regional glory.
