Champions Tusker have been dealt a massive blow ahead of their crucial tie against Sofapaka Fc this Saturday after four of their key players were ruled out of the match.
Goalkeeper Duncan Ochieng is bereaved while club top scorer Michael Khamati and Kenyan international Allan Wanga are out nursing injuries. Also in the injury list is Ugandan import Hashim Sempala.
However, stand-in coach Francis Baraza has exuded confidence that his charges will bring home the three vital points regardless of the situation his team currently finds itself in.
"Definitely it is always unpleasant for any coach when your key players are out. However, we have players who can do the job effectively. This is going to be a tough match for us but we are prepared and ready to get something from it. Our form has not been bad, save for our defeat against Thika. As I said earlier, our main aim is to finish in the second position meaning we have to win our remaining games", he said.
With only one point separating them with fourth-placed Sofapaka, the Brewers will be looking for a win against the Batoto ba Mungu side and pray that Posta Rangers slips to enable them to go second.
Both teams lost their last matches with Tusker falling 0-1 to relegation-threatened Thika United while Sofapaka suffered the same fate in the hands of Sony Sugar.
