Kenya Premier League side AFC Leopards players will have to train twice a day in a bid to regain fitness ahead of the 2018 KPL season, head coach Robert Matano has revealed. The veteran tactician watched in dismay as his side was outplayed by bitter rivals Gor Mahia during the Kenya Premier League Super Cup match staged at the Afraha Stadium last Sunday which they later lost 0-1.
And speaking on Tuesday, the former Sofapaka coach said that his players had failed to train for the match and as a way to instil concentration and regain fitness, the players would now have to undergo rigorous training twice a day.
"The truth of the matter is that we played to their tune. This was evident in our encounter against Gor. We struggled to give them a run for their money and they punished us. "I noted a number of mistakes during the match which I want to rectify before our continental match," he said.
"We are not in shape both mentally and physically and training twice a day will help us get there," he added.
