Machakos county ambulance collided with a matatu in Kathome on the Machakos-Nairobi road on monday night which led to death of two people and five others were rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
The accident occurred at 11 pm when the ambulance was rushing a sick six-month old child from Machakos to Kenyatta National Hospital.
The six-month old baby and the driver of the ambulance died on the spot while the mother and the paramedic were rushed to Machakos level 5 Hospital.
The driver of the matatu was also taken to machakos level 5 hospital together with some other two people who were in the ambulance.
Apparently, on 2nd December 2016, two people died in an accident involving the county's ambulance on the Mwala-Machakos road which implies that this is the second accident of such a manner that has happened. This has raised eye brows in the county.
