Motorists plying the Yaya - Kibera route are constantly complaining of the poor state of the road which is filled with pot holes, making it hard to conduct their business.
The motorists said that despite the complaints to the county government from the operators for road repair, the county government has done nothing but given them fake promises, something they have claimed is spoiling their transport business.
“We make losses daily because the profits we make go to the mechanics that repair our vehicles," said Michael Otengo, one of the motorists.
David Mogesa, another driver said that potholes on the roads have made some passengers opt to use motorbikes since they say that vehicles do not ferry them comfortably.
“The bad state of roads with pot holes is killing the matatu business as many passengers are not using matatus now,” he said.
“The county government should fasten the repair of the roads with potholes to make our business do well like before. The roads should be reconstructed if repair is not easy in this case,” said Johannes Bironga, another driver.
