The operators say business is at its peak.

“We don’t have to queue all day long like the past days where we would wait for our customers for long,” said Dickson Nyaribari a driver.

Students have however raised concerns of exploitation by the operators who they accused of increasing fare prices.

“The operators have heightened fare prices since they know we have no otherwise. This is very unfortunate," said Evans Ocholla.

"They give no room for negotiation saying if you don’t have the money then look for alternatives,” she added.

The operators are making huge profits rushing to town and back.

“It is our day. Most of the time we are forced to go home with little profits but for today business is good,” said Samuel Oloo.

They, however, denied claims of exploitation saying they charged the normal fare prices.

“Those are mere allegations against us. The fare prices are standard. What we only do that makes us look bad is that we don’t lower than the normal,” added Oloo.
