Sacco management says this will ensure all conductors and drivers working under the Sacco are registered to vote in the coming August general polls.

“We have come up with that policy to ensure none of our staff is left behind in the voting exercise. We have denied all the unregistered members a chance to ferry passengers from our terminals until they get registered,” John Mithamo, the Sacco director stated.

Mithamo says for Uhuru to be re-elected without pressure from the opposition, all ID card holders in Jubilee strongholds must be in the IEBC system.

“Thika has had a registration delay which I believe is occasioned by low mobilisation. We have so far registered less than 3,000 new voters which should not be the case,” he lamented.

He revealed that only 785 new voters were registered on the first day of voter registration exercise.

Kiambu county government women representative hopeful Jane Wanjiru Kamunge has however called for massive registration of Thika residents.

Thika sub county registrar of persons Jacob Kang’utu earlier decried that over 3,000 IDs were still lying uncollected in his office. He called upon the owners to pick the crucial document through chiefs and their assistant offices.
