Uasin Gishu chairman of Matatu Sacco’s Association Fred Wamu has cried foul of poor business ahead of October 26 presidential election.
He said the political stalemate being witnessed in the country has badly affected matatu business.
"With the current rise in political temperature we have run at a loss of over 25 per cent of our daily earnings since no movement due to fear that war might erupt. Our revenue collection has really dropped," he said in Eldoret town, Thursday.
"We want President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leaders to sit on a round table and solve this stalemate since our business are deteriorating and soon we will be forced to remove our vehicles on the road. Elections should be done once and for all," he added.
He, however, revealed that they will ferry voters to their respective voting stations to exercise their rights.
"We want all voters to participate in these crucial elections by transporting voters to their voting stations free of charge," noted Wamu.
He called upon Kenyans to maintain peace before, during and after the election.
