They claimed that the matatus were often driven carelessly when they were entering their new stage yet the school’s children often play there.

“We fear that our children might be knocked by vehicles which are making their way into the terminus. We are calling on the matatu drivers no to be speeding, especially near the school,” appealed Jackline Njoroge, a parent and the area resident.

Another resident Peter Kimacia claimed that majority of secondary school students in the area had formed the habit of running away from school and hiding into the matatus.

“Many of them have started joyriding into these matatus, yet its only less than a week since matatus relocated here. We fear that this will encourage many pupils to quit school to move around,” feared Kimacia.

Kelvin Kamau claimed that the matatu terminus also intrudes into the school’s play ground.

“We do not have any free space and the only place these children are supposed to play in has been taken  by the matatus,” added Kamau.
