Kenya Premier League sides  Mathare United and Posta Rangers have been linked with a move for Nzoia Sugar's towering defender Brian Otieno.

Otieno was instrumental for the league debutants during the 2017 and was consequently awarded the Sports Journalist Association of Kenya(SJAK) player of the month award in March.

A source from the sugar millers on Friday infomed local sports website Futaa.com that the two clubs now want the services of the backliner and have openly made inquiries about his availability.

"Mathare United and Posta Rangers are interested in signing Brian. They have both approached the club foe his services but nothing has been agreed upon with either of the two sides. The playet has also not talked about leaving as well so for now there are no any developments on the same", the source said.

The slum boys endured a difficult 2017 season and only escapes the relegation shocker in their last two matches of the season. They also soaked in many goals and the entry of Otieno could prove vital. The mailmen on the other hand were rather solid although they have since parted ways with nine of their players and as such are keen on finding replacements.

It seems Nzoia is increasingly becoming the league's favourite 'one stop shop' with speedy winger Lawrence Juma also being monitored closely by champions Gor Mahia and Tusker Fc.
