Newly signed Mathare United forward Clifford Alwanga has revealed why he decided to join the 2008 KPL champions.
Alwanga joined the slum boys despite having numerous alternative offers on the table.
Alwanga has admitted that his previous relationship with Francis Kimazi facilitated his quickened decision to ditch Tusker for Mathare.
“I had several offers on the table but I chose to join Mathare United since I have previously worked with the coach and I understand his philosophy. He also understands me as a player and that makes it easier for me to work on the pitch,” Alwanga told KPL.
The forward has set his targets before the season starts with playing time and scoring goals topping the list.
“The main aim for me right now is to rediscover my form, get more playing time and bang in the goals to help the team finish in a respectable position. My target is to score at least 15 goals this season,” he added.
