Wiper Deputy Secretary General Peter Mathuki has urged Machakos locals to endorse Wavinya Ndeti as governor in the August 8 general election.

Mathuki says that Ndeti will streamline development across the county if elected governor.

Addressing supporters at Machakos Town on Sunday, Mathuki who is Wavinya Ndeti’s running mate said that locals stand to benefit if the former Kathiani MP is elected governor.

He said that Ndeti has political experience and to take charge of Machakos county.

Mathuki said that their agenda for Machakos is to create jobs, fight poverty, illiteracy and empower locals through business.

He said that thousands of youths in the county remain unemployed. “Tacking unemployment will be one of our major agenda if we win in the August 8 election,” he said as quoted by the Star.

Mathuki accused Dr Alfred Mutua administration of neglecting locals on development. He claimed that Mutua’s administration has not done anything to better the living standards of locals.

“It is shameful for Dr Mutua to be going on claiming that he has transformed Machakos when in real sense he has done nothing for people,” he said.

Mathuki accused Mutua of propagating his own personal interests at the expense of local’s interests.

He claimed that the governor has been focusing on his Maendeleo Chap Chap party and not delivering services to locals.

Ndeti will be battling out with governor Mutua for the Machakos top seat in the August 8 polls.

Others in the race are deputy governor Bernard Kiala who is contesting an independent candidate and Jubilee aspirant Lemmy Muia.

Mutua is seeking to defend his seat on Maendeleo Chap Chap Party.
