Acting Interior CS Fred Matiang'i has affirmed the government's commitment to providing security before, during and after the forthcoming polls scheduled for August 8.
Speaking on Wednesday, Matiang'i noted that the move is aimed at ensuring that electoral agency IEBC delivers credible and verifiable election results.
“The plans we have...deployment, resources, assets and mapping...are all aimed at facilitating the IEBC to do its work,” he stated during a media briefing at Safari Park Hotel.
He further noted that the state will keep engaging foreign envoys in aa view to ensure that IEBC is adequately prepared to conduct the polls without any hitches.
Matiang'i is slated to meet Opposition coalition NASA leaders before the elections to address security concerns raised by the outfit in the recent past.
