Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang'i was on Wednesday not impressed by how taxis operate at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). Matiang'i visited the airport to check the security situation in the airport and was left angered by how taxi operators in the airport scrambled for customers. Matiang'i congratulated Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) for their good work and urged them to implement regulations that would control such operations. “I’m very impressed by the work of Kenya Airports Authority and the police but there is room for improvement... "We must make tough decisions to ensure there is maximum order at the airport,” Matiang'i said as quoted by Kenyans.co.keMatiang'i who was flanked by Tourism CS Najib Balala and Transport CS James Macharia praised the airport as being a regional hub and pledged to improve it to a world-class level. We have appointed Utalii College to train all public servants here on customer care so that travellers are treated well from the moment they arrive until they leave,” he affirmed. The Government move comes after JKIA achieved Category 1 status, with a date set for the maiden Nairobi -New York direct flight.
