A section of Kenyans have expressed disappointment following a directive that was given on Wednesday by Acting Interior CS Fred Matiang’i.In the order, Matiang'i said that Friday, September 1 will be a holiday — Idd Ul Adha — for the Muslims only.“Employers should allow them [Muslims] to be away from work, but for non-Muslims, this will be a normal working day,” said Matiang'i in a notice. The directive has however been criticised by a section of Christians who feel they have been discriminated. They took to social media to urgue that they too should be allowed a day off to join their Muslim colleagues in celebrating since they (Muslims) also get days off on Christmas day and Easter holiday.Below are some reactions from Kenyans on twitter:@Asmali77: Idd - ul-adha is a celebration. We wish to celebrate it with our non Muslim friends too. Retweet so that it becomes a holiday for all.@erastu_: Idd - Ul -Adha gon be a normal working for non-Muslims. Why isn't Easter and good Friday a normal working day for Muslims??@misssKenyatta: Matiang'i denies us day off on Idd - Ul -Adha ... We shall enjoy the Supreme Court ruling anyway.@musyokadavid151: Wanted to rant on Idd - Ul - Adha not being a public holiday for everyone then it hit me am jobless and everyday is a holiday to me anyway@treatsonabudget: Was waiting for that IDD -UL - ADHA Friday Holiday then @FredMatiangi says for non-Muslims it's a normal working day. Really???😠😠
