A section of locals from Nyamira now claims that Nyamira governorship results are being delayed deliberately to ensure Jubilee candidate is announced the winner.

With only thirty polling stations to go, ODM’s incumbent John Nyagarama seems to be in a steady lead with 60, 000 votes while his Jubilee competitor Walter Nyambati comes close at 55, 000 votes.

Surprisingly, despite being an opposition stronghold, Jubilee’s Uhuru Kenyatta managed to scoop over 52 percent of votes from the vote rich county.

“We know that Matiang’i wants to craft his own results and declare Nyamira a Jubilee zone. This is unacceptable and we won him against it,” said Agnes Moraa.

“The Education CS should allow the people’s choice to stand. He should, over on because this is our day and we made it clear on ballot,” he added.

Locals camped outside the county tallying center in Kebirigo High for the entire night with each side accusing another of rigging.

Matiang’i is credited for helping Kenyatta win Nyamira, a county believed to be a NASA stronghold even during the last day of campaigns.
