School boards of management have been accused of poor management in their institutions prompting many fire incidents in the recent days.
Addressing the press on Wednesday the education CS Dr Fred Matiang’i accused school boards of management of poor leadership.
According to Matiang’i if there was a strong and good management in various schools in the country there could be no fire tragedies in schools.
The CS said this after Naikuro high school dormitory in Bobasi constituency was set ablaze on Wednesday making it the fifth fire tragedy in Kisii County in a span of one week.
The CS accused some politicians in the country for being poor role models by holding protests, shaking IEBC gates, stoning supermarkets, burning vehicles, whistling when the president gave the speech among others.
“Students do copy what such politicians do that why we are experiencing fire tragedies in our schools let the politicians show good respect so that our children copy good characters," said Matiangi.
