Information and Communication Cabinet Sceretary,Dr Fred Matiang'i has called for restraint and patience from members of the public,parents and affected candidates whose KCSE examination results were either withheld or cancelled as the Government had taken up the matter.
"As a parent,a member of the Gusii community and a cabinet secretary,Iam deeply saddened about the withheld or cancelled KCSE examination results for last year's candidates from the Gusii region,"said Matiang'i
Speaking at Nduru Boys High School in Gucha South Sub-County in Kisii County,Matiang'i called for restraint from the Community's leadership and other education stakeholders awaiting the Government's verdict after concluding investigations into the matter.
The CS assured area residents,especially parents and affected children that once Government investigations are concluded,the Education Cabinet Secretary,Prof.Jacob Kaimenyi will make the findings public in a few weeks time.
"I urge all of you,the leadership and members of the public from this part of the country to exercise restraint as we wait for the final report on the investigations to be made public by my Cabinet colleague,Education CS Prof.Jacob Kaimenyi,"Implored Matiang'i.
South Mugirango MP,Manson Nyamweya warned that,it was unacceptable for children's national examination results to be withheld or cancelled without substantial grounds supporting such actions.
