Fred Matiang’i has challenged Gusii community to reelect president Uhuru Kenyatta based on his development agenda in the region.
Kenyatta completed his two days tour in the region that saw him award thousands of IDPs Sh800 million, a decade into their predicament.
“He has done extremely well and we now have passable roads in the region. Our economy has blossomed and notwithstanding the support given to our schools,” Matiangi said in Thursday’s interview at Egesa FM.
He added: “Despite not fully supporting him in 2013, he has been very instrumental in terms of support. Sometimes let us give credit when due.”
During his tour, Kenyatta praised the role played by the tough speaking minister adding that h has been instrumental in his government.
The Jubilee team has earmarked the vote rich region as swing, a move that has seen high profile tours by the Jubilee party bigwigs in the past quarter.
Collectively, Gusii region that voted for opposition leader Raila Odinga in 2013, has a whopping 800, 000 votes for grabs.
