Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has reportedly dropped a number of President Uhuru Kenyatta chief campaigners in Gusii region.
Jubilee strategists had earmarked both Kisii and Nyamira as tossups and the leadership has since launched cut throat campaigns in the region.
But Matiang’i, who has been spearheading the campaigns is said to have dropped a number of senior politicians following concerns by State House.
Recently, Kenyatta is said to have been angered with Matiang’i tendency of using politicians whom have since been labeled as brokers.
Before his latest move, the flamboyant CS was working closely with a section of politicians led by Chris Obure and a number of MPs from Kisii County.
Usually, the team would accompany him to several functions among the schools from the region where they would call for reelection of Kenyatta.
Although it’s not yet clear whom Matiang’i shall work with, it’s however believed that he has come with a team of professionals who shall take over from the politicians.
Uhuru is said to have raised concerns over inability of the politicians failing to sway the region in his favour despite using millions in recent months.
