Speaking on Tuesday in Matuu town, Ngui opposed the move by Education cabinet secretary general Fred Matiang'i of enforcing rules in schools.

"As teachers association, we are worried following the burning of both boys and girls Secondary schools which has so far caused massive losses," said Ngui.

"I want to urge the secretary general of education with respect to consult with board of management representatives, Kenya Union of teachers, and heads association so that burning of schools can stop," he added.

Ngui has firmly stated that the new rules are the major cause of burning of dormitories and schools.

This comes as many schools have been burnt down with less meaningful explanations.
