Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has extended olive branch to Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati after months of supremacy battles.
For months now, the two politicians have been rocked in intense struggle over the control of Gusii community with each imposing self as spokesperson.
While Matiang'i did not openly show quest for the position, his lieutenants were however first to dismiss Arati when he took 'oath' early this year in favour of Matiang'i.
"I want to say that this is the time to work together. Next time I will walk with Simba Arati throughout his constituency and fight gambling.
"Just like anyone, he is my friend and there is no enmity between us. Our people want to see us working," said Matiang'i at a function in Dagoretti South on Monday.
In one of the most agonising moment, nominated senator Millie Omanga, a close confidant of Matiang'i, dismissed Arati as a 'boy married to a foreigner'.
And in a rejoinder, Arati attacked Matiang'i camp as 'narrow minded' fellows who can only be accepted in streets.
"He is a nobody and the only thing he can do is using narrow minded people to attack my character," he had said.
