Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has warned Education CS Fred Matiang'i following the closure of the University of Nairobi (UoN) on Tuesday morning.
Through his Facebook page, Babu said that closing the institution is not the solution to the problem.
"Matiang’i has ordered university senate to close The University of Nairobi indefinitely. This is not the solution but postponing the problem. He further added that the protests by students was a 'revolution' and the government should take note. Revolution in many countries in the world started from the universities. Comrades power is second after the Holy Spirit power," he said.
The institution was closed indefinitely after a night of protests by students demanding the immediate resignation of Vice-Chancellor Peter Mbithi.
Lower Kabete campus students blocked Lower Kabete Road on Tuesday morning protesting assault by police.
The students have been accusing police of using excessive force.
