orm one placement for pupils who sat the 2017 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination will be done in two weeks.
This is according to a directive issued by Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i.
Matiang'i said that form one placement will be completed by December 4, and that by December 12 every pupil will have known the secondary school they shall be joining early 2018.
“We will do Form One selection and we hope to conclude form one placement by December 4. The firm instruction we have from the president is that by Jamhuri Day (December 12), every child must have been placed in a school,” said Dr. Matiangi.
He also said that all those who scored above 400 marks should be sure of securing a place in a national school.
“We will place all our children who have 400 marks and above in national schools regardless of whether they did their exams in private or public schools, we will not discriminate against any of our children,” added the CS.
