Following an influx of unlicensed land brokers, the government is planning to form laws that will streamline the sector.
Acting Lands Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has said the government will involve experts to come up with laws that will ensure discipline in the land agency.
Matiang'i who is also minister for Information and Communication said county governments will be involved in the exercise so that they form bylaws that will guide land agency at county level.
Dr. Matiang'i was speaking to journalists after he attended graduation ceremony of students who graduated with various certificate and diploma courses at Kamagambo Adventist College in Kisii County.
"We are working on legislation, the ministry of land and housing and urban development. We need to look and re-look at the issue of property agents and estate managers and land brokers," Dr Matiang'i said.
The ICT minister added that his colleagues at the ministry and government at large are prepared to work with profession organizations involved to bring the land matters to the end.
The minister also said there has been a weakness in land legislation which has lead to increased unscrupulous land brokers.
He added that there is a procedure on whose should be licensed as broker or property.
He blamed those who are responsible for this for sleeping on job leading to a skyrocketing number of brokers.
