Information Communication and Technology Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Fred Matiang’i has urged kisii leaders to stay united and shun from tribal and political wrangles which will only devide the reidents against each other.
Speaking on Saturday at Nduru girls’ high school after inspecting infrastructure development in the institution, the CS warned leaders that they risked to negatively affect development if they continued to fight for selfish interests saying the government want selfless leaders who mind on the interesty of kenyanms not their individual needs.
“The government wants a selfless leader who is going to mind his electoretes and not his individual gains. We hyavce seen corrupt leaders even in parliamnent putting the lives of kenyans at risk because of money. Lets support education and devlopment in our countyr for the sake of kenyans.” The officer said
He challenged them to engage in development matters for the sake of the community commending the school for its sterling performance in the 2014 KCSE and assured the students and teachers of the model school of government support.
The CS gave a personal donation of shs.0.5m towards the construction of a computer laboratory and 10,000 bricks to put up a meeting shed for the school.
CIC Chairman, Mr. Charles Nyachae pledged to contribute towards the school’s development as a centre of excellence but advised the management to focus on priority projects first.
Area MP, Manson Nyamweya said the school was allocated shs. 2.6m from the local CDF owing to its exceptional performance in last year’s KCSE.
