Fred Matiangi insists that Gusii community will have no option other than supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election in August.
On Tuesday, Kenyatta will be on a two days tour to the region which has been identified as a swing region by Jubilee Party strategists.
And in his final tour on Sunday ahead of Kenyatta’s visit, the Education Cabinet Secretary slammed the opposition adding that it has nothing to offer to locals.
”Time has come for us to even force you to do it (voting for Uhuru). This I the only way we can avoid being in cold for five more years,” said Matiangi.
Matiangi, who has been in the receiving end for campaigning using development money for schools added: “That is the only way to go because he is winning and we can’t afford to be out of equation.”
He was speaking at Sironga Girls on Sunday where he issued a Sh14m cheque adding that the cash had nothing to do with influencing voting patterns.
While in Nyamira, Kenyatta is expected to use existing development projects to rally behind his re-election.
