A section of parents in Nyamira County have commended Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i for successfully overseeing credible national examinations.
Speaking on Wednesday in Nyamira town, Nyamira Parents Association vice chair Francis Omayio said the examinations had been done in a transparent manner across the country.
His remarks come following the conclusion of the KCSE and KCPE 2016 exams which were devoid of massive irregularities as has been the case in previous years.
“As education stakeholders, we are very happy with the CS Matiang'i's efforts to restore sanity in our examinations,” said Omayio.
Omayio commended Matiang’i for spearheading reforms aimed at restoring confidence in the education sector.
He added that parents were fully behind the CS in his bid to clean up the sector.
“We urge Matiang'i not to slow down in his crusade to clean up the education sector until the rot associated with it is completely eliminated,” added Omayo.
He likened the CS Matingi to former minister the late John Michuki for his no-nonsense approach to problems.
This comes as the minister officially released the 2016 KCPE examinations results on Thursday.
