Interior Cabinet secretary Dr. Fred Matiang'i has now hinted joining active politics come 2022 and probably run for Nyamira county gubernatorial seat that is currently being held by John Nyagarama.
Speaking on Friday at Kebirichi Secondary school in Nyamira county during a fundraiser Matiang'i said the County was lagging behind due to bad politics and said the area needs a strong leader who can work with the government in place to Forster development projects.
Matiang'i also added that he is not happy with a section of top leaders from the County for misleading locals about Jubilee and above all those spreading rumours that he doesn't hail from the area.
"My home is Nyamira and even my future politics will be fully based on the area and those saying that I don't belong here should simply think twice, they are the same leaders misleading locals about Jubilee's stand for Nyamira" said Matangi.
Matiang'i's sentiments come at a time there has been sharp criticism by a section of leaders and elders that he doesn't belong to Nyamira county but instead Kisii County.
The interior CS urged all locals to ditch the opposition for Jubilee as it has proved to have the interest of the community at hand.
