Acting Interior CS Fred Matiang'i has said he is tired and sick of the way Kenyans are using media.
The CS who was reacting to alleged police brutality at the University of Nairobi said that social media was being used in the wrong to spread propaganda regarding the matter.
"I am just sick and tired of how Kenyans are abusing social media to propel propaganda. I have my doubts on this clip and have my solid evidence...unless we get a detailed report from the IG, I cannot comment on the matter," said Matiang'i as quoted by the Star.
The CS said that he cannot issue a generalized statement on a number of video clips doing rounds on social media. One of the clips shows people believed to be anti-riot police assaulting and beating students using batons and whips at their halls of residence.
The students are said to have been rioting to push for the release of Embakasi East MP Babu MP Babu Owino.
Speaking on Monday, Matiang'i said the clip is insufficient proof that the incident took place in Kenya.
"I want to remind all Kenyans that we have choices to make on how we want to live. We cannot just spend time on social media circulating information that has no basis and harassing those in charge of a particular department to act. No, this has to stop somehow."
