Education Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’i has said he will not turn back on the reforms he has initiated in the ministry aimed at improving the sector.

Addressing parents and other stakeholders during prayer and education day at Sironga Girls High School in Nyamia County, the CS said he will not turn back on the reforms.

“Many people have been urging me not to turn back,am here to assure them that I will not turn back until our education sector is transformed to better, “ Mating’i said on Friday.

The minister vowed to continue with his impromptu visits to schools until all institutions are in better condition.

“Am going to continue with my visits in schools since parents have not complained. Only those who are complaining are the ones who do not what change as some have hidden agendas which they fear will be brought to light,” he said

He also cautioned those who think that things will be as usual during examinations period where students have been used to cheating.

The Cs said the new rules will remain enforce to streamline the sector.

Former CIC chairman Charles Nyachae who was present said through the CS, the education sector has been improved and hailed President Uhuru Kenyatta for appointing Matiang’i to head the ministry.
