Kisii County Jubilee leaders have defended President Uhuru Kenyatta’s decision to re-appoint former Education Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’i to serve as the new Interior Cabinet secretary.
The leaders led by former councilor Steve Arika said there is no crime committed when Matiang’i is moved to the Interior Ministry.
“Matiang’i is a performer and he is fit to serve at any ministry. Those opposing President Uhuru Kenyatta’s decision should concentrate on uniting Kenyans and let Matiang’i to work,” he said.
Arika added that leaders from Nyamira and Kisii Counties should unite and back Jubilee government.
“We are happy because Matiang’i was retained to serve as a cabinet secretary. As a community, we should support the Jubilee government to appreciate the good work. Propagandists should keep off UhuRuto affairs,” he added.
Arika expressed confidence that women will be represented in the cabinet.
