Interior and Government Coordination Cabinet Secretary Matiang'i has appeared before a parliamentary committee to put the record straight over the Miguna Miguna saga.
The cabinet secretary made shocking revelations about the judiciary, saying that there was a clique of judicial officers keen on embarrassing government officers by colluding with activists.
''There is a clique of judicial officers who want to embarrass government officers by working with activists so that they make it difficult for the government to function. Can you imagine a 37-page ruling was done in 20 minutes. That tells you that there was influence from somewhere,'' a visibly irritated CS Matiang'i said.
The embattled CS failed to honour a court order that he, among others, appear in court with controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna.
His animated presentation comes in the aftermath of Miguna's dramatic deportation to Canada after a long standoff that gripped the public for hours on end.
