The leaders argue that it is unreasonable to impose a curfew when Kenyans are still dying because of increased incidents of terror attacks in different parts.

Speaking on Friday during a press briefing, the politicians led by Amani National Congress Party (ANC) sec general Godffrey Osostsi and ODM sec general Dr Agnes Zani called upon the government to put in place out measures  to deal with security threat in the nation ahead of the August general elections.

“Security and safety are paramount in this region, the recent insurgency of Alshaabab is unfortunate and we want to express our solidarity with the people of Lamu” Osotsi said as quoted by Baraka FM.

He added: “We want the government to take resources into this region to restore peace. The government must also consider imposing of curfews which are having negative impact.”

The officer also noted that the recent attacks on politicians cannot be taken lightly; adding security officers should pull up their socks.

“We note with great concern the rising levels of political intolerance at rallies as reported in the past few days, it is our believe that in a democracy it is important that all candidates be heard.”Ososti said.
