Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has reportedly appealed High Court decision that convicted him of contempt of court.
Coincidentally, his decision comes at the time Chief Justice David Maraga rebuked his persistent attacks on judiciary.
In his address, Maraga said: " Our courts are independent. If you don't agree with the decision, you have a right to appeal."
Last week, Justice George Odunga fined Matiang'i Sh200,000 after the historic conviction.
Back in Nyamira, his decision to move to court has been lauded by Borabu MP Ben Momanyi.
"In law, what he has done is commendable. He should reduce much of talking."
Separately, a section of Nyamira MCAs led by Alfayo Ngeresa of Mekenene, on Thursday backed Maraga's vicious defense on judiciary.
