Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has called on both the the county and national governments to collaborate in the successful provision of Early Childhood Development Education.
Speaking at a Monday meeting, Dr Matiang'i said that there were irregularities in the success of ECD learning at the early stages because of no cooperation between the two governments.
He congratulated the county governments for what they were doing but called on them to put in more because the sector needed a uniform policy above the structures set.
"It is not just about setting up structures, we need a uniform policy to guide the sector and at the same time we need to come together and solve the challenges facing ECD education in the country," said Matiang'i.
Matiang'i said that since issues affecting ECD education cut across all counties, it was important to face the challenge from a centralised point of view.
"The issues affecting ECD are interrelated in all the counties and as a result, there is need for uniformity in terms of policy," he added.
A new National Early Childhood Education policy will be launched in December if a project the ministry is working on will be successful
