Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i is under siege as Nyamira parents have called for his immediate resignation.
The parents claimed that if Matiang’i continue to serve as the Interior Cabinet Secretary, lives of more youths at his backyard are likely to be ruined due to increased gambling businesses being set up in the region.
“Matiangi has been making unnecessary appearances on television giving empty threats over gambling businesses in this country.
"Matiang’i must resign because he has failed to tame illegal businesses at his home turf,” said a Manga resident, Amos Otongo.
Another parent from Nyamira township ward, Tom Maeba, said gambling machines have been deployed across the county and the security teams are only collecting bribes from owners before they are allowed to operate.
“We are being cheated that police officers and local chiefs are destroying gambling machines. Let the truth be known that more gambling machines have been deployed," he said.
