Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i has directed Western Regional coordinator Moses Ombati to arrest and present four MCAs for prosecution. The four Bungoma MCAs are accused of kicking out newly transferred principal Alex Maina from the Kamusinga High School on Wednesday.Matiang’I gave the orders during a consultative meeting with regional and county commissioners at the Kenyan School of Governance in Lower Kabete, Kiambu County.“I want to tell you the regional coordinators of Western to look for those guys who stormed Kamusinga High even if it is under their beds, arrest them and take them to court. Let the judge read the law for them,” said Matiang’i.Mr Maina was posted to the school this term, taking over from Edwin Namachanja, who has been at the school since 2010.The four MCAs are reported to have stormed the national school when students were in class, ejected Mr Maina, then locked the principal’s office door with padlocks. The MCAs then escorted Maina out of the gate before police came to his rescue. The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) massive transfer of school heads has received resistance across the country. On Thursday six Members of the Makueni County Assembly were arrested by police after they allegedly led a wave of protests, blocking the new principal of St Joseph Girls’ School from accessing the institution.
