Matiang'i said members of the public should not dictate the government on what should be done to improve security yet when asked to participate in public participation they go into hiding.

“People can’t come from nowhere and dictate the government on what should be done. People have rights to participate fully in public participation forums where they should give views, suggestions and recommendations on what should be done to improve security,” he noted.

The Cabinet secretary said the government will not listen to anyone in efforts to end crime.

"The government is committed to protect citizens across the country. People are advised to cooperate with security officers and provide information to police on suspected criminals who are out to disturb the peace of our country,” he stated.

Matiang’i said the ministry of Interior has plans to set up police stations in deep villages to boost the government’s service delivery in the country.
