Interior Security Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has condemned the ‘madness’ that are on our roads and said he will not tolerate the same.
Speaking on Tuesday during a meeting with journalists, Matiang’i talked tough and warned all those flouting traffic rules that their days are numbered.
“One, we can’t continue with the madness we are seeing on our roads. Another thing that we can’t continue with is the endless story of how we are managing ourselves on the roads,” he said.
Matiangi further said that his ministry, together with the Transport Ministry, is going to act firmly to ensure there is sanity on the roads.
“We are reviewing the entire traffic police department, the exercising is going on right now, and we will have a total review of the traffic department,” he added.
He, however, took issue with the courts, which he said should help them by punishing officers found on the wrong side of the law in the course of their duties.
“We are frustrated that the ongoing review of the police identified 127 officers who were kicked out and went to court and came back with court orders and went back to doing what they were doing best,” he added.
