The Cabinet Secretary Interior and National Coordination Dr. Fred Matiang’i, has given the Kenya Airports Authority 12 weeks to reform and improve service delivery.

Matiang’i who led CSs from four ministries in the signing of the service delivery charter between six ministries told the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) to hire an airport manager to ensure smooth and efficient running of the airport.

Matiang’i who spoke at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport said the Kenya Airport Police Unit (KAPU) will be overhauled in order to improve security at the airport.

Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala directed that all Airport Customer Care staff must undergo training under the new customer care curriculum at Utalii College to enable them improve on service delivery.

Other CSs present were Transport CS James Macharia and his Health counterpart Dr Cleopa Mailu. The signing of the Charter comes two weeks after the CSs made an impromptu visit to the JKIA, where they were appalled by the condition at the facility.
