Education CS Fred Matiang’I have put on notice private schools that hire teachers that have been dismissed by TSC.

Matiang’i, who spoke on Wednesday when he released KSCE results, said those found committing such an offense will be deregistered.

“On this one, we will act without mercy. We cannot compromise the future of our children; we will pursue these cases,” CS Matiang’i warned.

This comes after 41 teachers were banned by TSC for gross misconduct, meaning they are not allowed to work in any school, whether private or public.

Speaking during the same event, TSC chief executive Nancy Macharia warned that all teachers are subject to the same laws, whether they teach in public or private.

“The Kenya National Examination Council has prepared a report on these offenders and the commission will take stern action against them.

"As you may have noted, TSC has been gazetting, as per the law, teachers found guilty of various offenses, including exam malpractices. We shall not hesitate to take similar steps against those found culpable,” she said.

The teachers who have been banned are culpable of different offenses, including having sexual relations with their students, negligence and even exam cheating.
