[Photo|@citizentvkenya]Education and Acting Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary, Dr Fred Matiang'i, has said that at least over 90 per cent of polling stations countrywide have opened.Speaking after casting his ballot in the fresh presidential election, in Nyamira county, Matiang'i said the exercise kicked of smoothly after polling stations opened at 6am, Thursday, for the exercise.He told journalists, that security had been heightened, across the country to ensure voters security is not compromised.Citing cases of barricaded roads in parts of Migori, Kisumu and Siaya counties Matiang'i termed the incidents unfortunate, saying they were only few violent incidents that had been reported to him.He however indicated that security officers had been sent in the counties, to contain the situation."We have no security problem. You can go and vote. If you don't vote that is also fine," he said, Thursday morning.
