According to Matiang'i previous address, the KCSE exams were set to begin after the Mashujaa celebrations on October 20.

However, recent happening between IEBC and political parties regarding the push and pull on the October 17 polls date has led to uncertainties as to whether the students will seat their exams in mid-October.

While speaking at the Kenya Institute Curriculum Development (KICD) on Monday during a meeting with exams stakeholder, Matiang'i said the uncertainty regarding the repeat polls date will not affect the timelines set for the commencement of the 2017 national exams.

"We can't change exam timetable even if election date changes. IEBC is yet to tell us of another date apart from October 17," said Matiang'i.

The latest development from OT Morpho, the company assigned the role of delivering the electronic management kits (KIEMS) stated that they cannot deliver the reconfigured kits by October 17.

IEBC is yet to respond to the Morpho concerns.
