Education Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i is on December 16 and 19, 2016, expected to announce names of students selected to join Form One.
This is after he released the 2016 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results, on December 1.
The names were to be announced December 9, but were postponed due to undisclosed reasons.
At least 942,021 candidates are eyeing over 780,000 slots in secondary schools, including those in 103 national schools countrywide.
In 2015, 23,085 students joined national schools, an increase from 20,291 in 2014.
Form One selection exercise has been going on for the last one week in Naivasha sub-county by some education stakeholders.
Dr Matiang’i will preside over the event at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD), Nairobi.
Candidates selected will be expected to report to school on January 9, 2017.
