Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i now says he will not hesitate to take action against opposition leader Raila Odinga and his lieutenants should they break the law.
Matiang’i further accused the opposition leader of using police officers attached to him in protests and harassment of state officers.
“Why should we give you 20 police officers and misuse them from by loitering them from one hotel to another, one press conference to another?” he asked.
“No one is above the law leave alone Raila Odinga. I don’t like issuing ultimatums, I act. Let them continue breaking the law, we shall come for them,” he said, in reference to Odinga’s call for IEBC protests.
The tough talking minister maintained that the government will not reinstate security officers withdrawn from Odinga, adding that he will deal with anyone who may attempt to protest over the government’s action.
Opposition MPs had vowed to wage protests over withdrawal of the police officers attached to Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka.
